Description

This position directs and coordinates traffic activities and is responsible for all shipping functions from the MPD Finished Goods Warehouse. As needed, the receiving function can also be a requirement for this position.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Traffic – Coordinates out bound shipments for expedite, non-expedite, and specialized equipment.

  • Schedules all non-milkrun shipment through CH Robinson or dictated carrier.
  • Submits requirements via customer websites as required via 3rd party websites.
  • Participate in Expedited Freight Sales meetings.
  • Initiate changes as needed to improve the control and efficiency of traffic functions.
  • Available after hours and weekends to support CSRs and other MAHLE personnel for expedited shipments and other traffic issues.

Shipping – Verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following.

  • Upon receipt of delivery pick list, determine weights and input in to SAP.
  • Confirm in SAP that all transfer order have been closed, then print required bills of lading, packing slips, international export and customer required documentation.
  • When freight is picked up, confirm all required fields are updated and post shipment in SAP.
  • Scan all pertinent shipping information daily to shared drive.
  • Maintains and assigns shipper numbers for most non SAP shipments.
  • Inputs Cycle Count in SAP

Receiving – Researches and validates all receipts against corresponding purchase orders and scheduling agreements, receives items into SAP and distributes and maintains copies as needed.

  • Maintains vendor pre-alerts in preparation of shipment arrivals.
  • Reconciles / validates bills of lading, invoices, truck bills and delivery notes to be correct against PO and SA data in SAP.
  • Receives components / forgings and international receipts in SAP, detailing invoices and trucking data for accounting reference.
  • Creates receiving reports and forward pertinent data as required
  • Receives imports, returns from customers, outside receipts of castings and forgings into inventory.
  • Inputs chemical and packaging draws to ensure inventory levels are correct.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OVERTIME

Employee must be able to work additional hours either at the beginning or end of the normal shift, additional days during the payroll month which can and will be in the excess of forty (40) hours per payroll week.
