Summary:
This position is involved with processes related to shipments, invoicing, transportation, EDI, customer websites, pricing, and packaging. This position is considered in a training period in which the individual is requiring additional supervision and guidance regarding daily duties, customer interaction, and A/R resolution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provide IT with information to create customer master records
- Populate material master sales views
- Create and maintain customer material information records
- Create and maintain scheduling agreements
- Create and maintain customer-specific work instructions
- Responsible for processing shipments and invoices
- Track customer delivery performance
- Review and maintain customer website information (as needed)
- Compare price list provided by Sales against pricing in the scheduling agreement
- Update pricing in the scheduling agreement ASN text (Caterpillar only)
- Review and troubleshoot the status of incoming EDI
- Monitor and troubleshoot outgoing EDI transmissions
- Assist with returnable dunnage issues
- Create and modify prototypes finished product
- Process customer returns
- Communicate freight scheduling with Shipping
- Organize and track expedited freight
- Process identified accounts receivable issues (freight charges, returns, etc.)
- Coordinate engineering and packaging changes with production scheduling
- Resolve delivery performance differences with customer locations
- Participate in customer visits as necessary
- Perform special projects as assigned
- Overtime as needed
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, twist; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; kneel and reach.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic)
Required to sit at a desk for long periods of time. Occasionally required to lift storage box with office records. Required to read both hard copy and computerized information. Required to work in office setting with other individuals utilizing computers, printers, telephones, and calculators.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
OVERTIME
Employee must be able to work additional hours either at the beginning or end of the normal shift, additional days during the payroll month which can and will be in the excess of forty (40) hours per payroll week.
